Miracles

Parentals!
I love you-and have been thinking about you as we get closer to the holiday seasons. Its going to be great to get to talk to you!...just nothing too sappy...I may not have time to fix up the messed up make up problem if I have an appointment right after. haha. The hispanics celebrate Christmas a little differently-all of their parties/present opening etc. is done Christmas Eve (La Noche Buena). So our Christmas morning will be a little different I feel. We are getting together with the other wards and branches in the area for one hour of church from 9-10 our time. So, my guess is that we could call families in between that time and the time you have things. I might call about 11-12 our time which would be between 10-11 your time I think. We have our own cell phone which I think we are able to use. I don't know if you were hoping to skype or iChat...I don't know who we would use for that. Maybe Pres. Benevides?...Let me know next week/send me a snail mail and I'll see what I can do to do my end of things.

Miracles
The mission has a theme of miracles Moroni 7:35-37. Every week we are supposed to email our miracles in our letter to pres., every week in our district meeting we talk about how we did with an emphasis on the miracles. Pretty cool. I'm starting to get into the spirit of it all. Especially with the miracles we've seen this week.

Nazaria: Her and her "husband" are on date to be baptised, but she has only been able to come to church every other week because of work problems. We were trying to do some more frequent contact with the family and in the visit she told us that her schedule was changed! She can totally come to church every Sunday now! (And they did, 5/6 in their family.) I have a testimony of daily contact, because in the process we found other Word of Wisdom things we might need to address, found out how we needed to help them get to the point of marriage etc. Baby steps. God-directed steps.
Frances: We have tried to contact her for a very long time. The sisters in the area before initially contacted her, and she was really interested. Since then there have been health problems etc. We finally got in to talk to her and she was so prepared to hear the word. She accepted everything we taught her and had one of the most powerful/Spirit-guided lessons of the Restoration. Left there smiling our faces off.
Maria Reina: This sister has really wanted to be baptised and has the desires to come to church, but wants her family with her. We were able to have an FHE with them. We sang "Families Can Be Together Forever." Then, we discussed that families can only be together forever if we have family unity through church, baptism, and the power of God (then teaching a short restoration lesson). They accepted a soft commit to baptism and to come together to church! We have appointments with them ALL every week now.

I'm definitely seeing the miracles here in the mission. I know that if Hna. Noyes and her companion before me didn't prepare the way and put all of the work in we wouldn't be having the success we're having right now. I know there are more to be taught. Everyone says this area is hard and I don't dare believe them, not with miracles like those! Not when there are still people to be found!

Yes, I'm in a car. So I'm pretty warm for most of the day. I'm the driver, so I'm getting a little nervous about driving in snow...

Nicknames
beruchita...I think. Means drunkard...cause of my hiccups. hilarious.
Hna. Muffin, or Hna. Muppet. Haha...I love when their faces light up...I don't know why its so funny to them
I learned that hipo is always just hipo...if you say hipos they will tease you for having hijos. Look 'em up. ;)

Totally had a dream 1/2 in Spanish! Maybe that means I'm 1/2way there. (Oh oh...living on a prayer).

I love the symbol of light for Christmas. The fact that shephards followed a light to find the light of the world, that angels come arrayed in light. That light dispels all darkness. Ponder with me this season will you? (from the Christmas Gen Fireside).

I love you all so much. Especially you-the most important 2. You are the backbone and life-blood of this family (not to mention the blood-line). Thank you for raising me up right, with love, discipline when needed, kindness, example, dedication...all that jazz.
